Biography

Dr. Pushparajah is a Senior Lecturer in Political Sciences at the Department of Social Sciences, Faculty of Arts and Culture, Eastern University, Sri Lanka. He previously served as a Senior Lecturer Gr II at the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Arts, University of Jaffna, from November 2018 to May 2022. Additionally, he worked as a Coordinator for the proposed master's degree Program in Peace and Conflict Resolution at the Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of Jaffna from March 2021- May 2022. 

Dr. Pushparajah holds a PhD in Politics, Human Rights, and Sustainability from the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in Pisa, Italy. He also obtained an LLM degree in International Human Rights from the National University of Ireland, Galway, Ireland, and completed his MA coursework and BA degree in Political Science from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka.

Throughout his career, Dr. Pushparajah has gained extensive research experience. He worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Institutum Iurisprudentiae, Academia Sinica, Taiwan from February 2018 to November 2018, and at the KoGuan Law School, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China from 2015 to 2017. He also served as a Visiting Guest Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg, Germany in 2013. Furthermore, he has contributed as a Co-Lecturer at the International Training Programme for Conflict Management (ITPCM), Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in Pisa, Italy, and as a Temporary Lecturer at the Department of Political Science, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka.

 

Currently, Dr. Pushparajah holds visiting teaching positions at the Postgraduate Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences (PGIHS), University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, and the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Applied Science, Trincomalee Campus, Eastern University, Sri Lanka, where he teaches Sri Lankan Studies for undergraduate students. His academic interests span various fields, including human rights, humanitarian law, international politics, Sri Lankan politics, constitutional studies, transitional justice, and reconciliation.
